The IPIA has highlighted its fundraising appeal for former colleague Sharron Mahony, who medically retired from the trade association in July 2023 to focus on her health.

A message written by IPIA chair Charles Rogers that has since been reposted on LinkedIn by IPIA members including Eight Days a Week Print Solutions managing director Lance Hill said: “Anyone who has met Sharron will attest to her fantastic positivity, bubbly nature, and true love of the print industry.

“She has been an amazing advocate for our sector and been key to helping the IPIA raise the tide for all boats during her career with the association.

“Sharron continued to work throughout the last few years of her time with the IPIA while dealing with significant health issues – being challenged by breast cancer. In July 2023 it was with great sadness that Sharron made the brave decision to medically retire from the association to focus on her health.

“The IPIA wanted to provide the wider print industry – and all those who have known and worked with Sharron – the opportunity to support her in the next stage of her journey.

“The IPIA has launched our appeal to reach a target of £2,500. All the funds raised by this initiative will go towards helping Sharron access therapies that can improve her health and wellbeing.

“On behalf of the IPIA, thank you very much for your support and kindness.”

The fundraiser had reached 80% of its target at the time of writing at lunchtime today (8 December).
