The press, which prints B1 sheets at speeds of 60 to 1,100 sheets per hour, attracted significant attention at the show, said managing director Patrick Becq (pictured).
"The beauty of this press is that it's like a conventional offset machine in all but its print process," said Becq. "Plus, we don't sell the machine on a click charge or a bundle deal printers buy the press and then buy paper and ink separately."
The six-colour (CMYK + LC and LM) Jet7Pro is driven by a PC-based proprietary workflow that accepts all standard file formats, including 1-bit TIFF and PDF.
It uses Epson print heads, and comes as standard with four engines, each comprising 12 print heads for a top speed of 60 sheets per hour. The top-configured machine has 20 engines, and prints at 1,100 sheets per hour.
Inov-Media plans a second generation of the Jet7Pro using Xaar print heads, to be launched in September.
