Indian companies gear up for Interpack 2011 in Dusseldorf

Eighty Indian companies have confirmed participation at Interpack 2011, a global exhibition for packaging and processing technology.

Interpack 2011 will be the nineteenth edition of the exhibition which is held every three years. Organised by Messe Dusseldorf, it will be held in Dusseldorf, Germany  from 12 to 18 May 2011.

To promote the exhibiton, Messe Dusseldorf India held presentations in Mumbai and New Delhi to provide an insight into the packaging and processing markets of the  world.

Werner Dornscheidt, president and CEO of Messe Dusseldorf, along with a panel of speakers presented that rising brand awareness coupled with a fast adaption of urban lifestyle has stimulated India’s Rs 70,000–crore packaging industry to a staggering 22% growth in 2010.

The other statistics included India being the second largest producer of foodstuffs in the world and processed food being the fastest growing sector in India.

Some of the Indian companies which have confirmed their participation includes ACG Worldwide, Jindal Poly Films, Khosla Machines, Multi Pack Systems, New Era Machines, Pakona Engineers India, Positive Packaging, Rapid Pack Engineering, Subnil Packaging Machines and Sidsam Formilan Machines.

The themes at Inetrpack 2011 include Security solutions for protection against product piracy, Convinience to fulfill consumers' demand for products and packaging that adapt to their lifestyle and Sustainability for energy-efficient machinery, facilities, processes and resource-saving packaging materials.

Acoording to Messe Dusseldorf, the previous edition of 2008 had 2,746 exhibitors participating and a footfall of 171,000 visitors who got a lowdown on innovations in machinery for producing packaging, confectionery and bakery goods as well as packaging of all material classes.
