The firm, which has a turnover of 2.6m, has been rebranded as Impress (Gillingham). The acquisition has pushed the Impress Group's turnover to 5m.
"This is a significant acquisition for us as we have added litho to the group," said Impress Group managing director Andy Connacher (pictured). "It means we are able to offer integrated print and marketing for magazine publishers, retailers and marketing departments of companies looking for new ways to reach customers."
Connacher added that he was targeting increased growth in direct mail and a push into the financial market. The firm is aiming for a turnover of 10m in the next four years. "We are putting together a group strategy and as far as further acquisitions go, that will be it for the next six months," he said.
Becketts has two five-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 74 presses and offers in-house finishing and mailing. "In a year's time we expect to add a third press at Gillingham," said Connacher.
The Impress Group is based in Peterborough and operates a repro and design company, Impress By Design. Its clients include Archant and Emap. The group's other divisions include Impress Print, which covers direct mail, retail and exhibition graphics, and Impress IT. Both are based in Peterborough.
