According to Peter Taylor, Xerox UK director of graphic arts, a total of six UK firms bought iGen3s over the seven-day event. They were Image Data Group, Howitt, Paramount Print Group, Buckingham Colour Press, 4DM and an unnamed customer in the public sector.
"We have had a tremendous show and, from an iGen3 perspective, it brings our sales into double digits for this year already," said Taylor (pictured right).
"Our iGen3 machines mark the start of a major investment programme for Image Data Group, as we expand into new premises and take the company into a new dimension of digital print capability," said Image Data Group ICT director Greg Roach (centre).
The firm is also set to build two new factories as it aims to boost turnover to 50m in the next five years. One will be near its Brighton operation to house up to five machines while the other will be in Howden, East Yorkshire, near its Willerby headquarters.
Buckingham Colour Group also invested in an iGen3, the firm's second, on the penultimate day of the show.
"It makes sense to have two of everything... customers want robust solutions," said group chairman Richard Knowles.
"The main aim is to give additional capacity across our service range."

IDG ups digital capacity with order for two iGens
Image Data Group bought two iGen3s as part of a massive investment in digital firepower. The deal included the option of running up to 10 machines by the end of 2007, which would make it one of the largest digital printers in Europe.
