Hollanders sells first ColorBooster 320 to Exhibit Graphics

Hollanders experienced a successful first day at Fespa after selling its first ColorBooster 320 digital textile machine to London-based wide-format printer Exhibit Graphics.

The ColorBooster 320 is a new wider version of the ColorBooster 250 2.5m entry-level textile printer that the business launched at last year’s Fespa Digital.

A modular device that can be fitted with different features according to a customer’s requirements, the 320 prints materials from 0.5m to 3.2m in width, in four, six or eight colours. It can handle a maximum media thickness of 10mm.

The machine, which can print at up to 70sqm/hr, has two Ricoh MH5420 print heads.

Businesses that sign for the printer during Fespa can take advantage of the show-exclusive offer price of €111,500 (£80,798) for the 320, or €89,000 (£64,494) for the 250 model.

The 320 is available to order now and deliveries will begin in Q4. A 250 model is being shown on the firm’s Fespa stand (Hall 7, Stand H45).

Exhibit Graphics’ machine will be delivered at the beginning of January, according to the company’s owner Ken Laidlaw.

The firm also received a complimentary Hollanders ColorFix system, which enables high-speed fixation at high temperatures, as part of the deal.

Exhibit Graphics is a recently established wide-format printing arm of Exhibit Group, which also encompasses event hire operation Exhibit Hire, event management arm Exhibit Events and audio-visual segment Exhibit AV.

The business purchased the ColorBooster 320 to enable it to offer textile printing in-house.

“Going into fabrics is a new venture for the company. We’ve just started the graphics company around two months ago and we also run a Canon flatbed printer and a Zünd cutter,” said Laidlaw.

“The main reason we wanted to get into graphics is because we want to control more of a supply line.”

The business operates from a 3,716sqm facility in London and a 650sqm premises in Cardiff. It has 40 staff and serves retail companies, exhibition firms and ad agencies.
