Hoggett Creative invests in first MIS

Growing design and print company Hoggett Creative is to take on Tharstern as its first-ever MIS provider to aid its continued progress.

Dumphries & Galloway-based Hoggett has seen 300% growth over the past four years and is preparing for further expansion by finalising a deal for Tharstern's management information system, replacing a number of other programs.

It is expected that the program will go live onsite in October, after an extensive training period in September after the summer holidays.

Creative director and founder Simon Woolley said: “We need Tharstern to move the business forward. Currently, it is probably overkill for our size, but we are growing. This will allow us to manage our growth and keep everything in one place.

“It is no hassle to work with and we know that Tharstern will give us great support as we get to grips with the system. Now, we are at the stage of planning to transfer our data over to the system. It is going to be hard work at first, but once it’s in, it’s in.

“We are selling all around the world now and we want to grow that – our sales come not from going out and pursuing but simply from our heightened reputation which is a good indicator. When we started 10 years ago, it was only me here.”

Once the Tharstern install is complete, Hoggett intends to carry out a rebrand that will see its website updated and signage installed onsite.

According to Woolley, who runs the company with his wife and managing director Dietland, other ambitions for the near future will include investing in large-format printing capabilities, a function that is currently outsourced.

Hoggett currently runs a single press, a Xerox Versant 180, alongside a broad gamut of finishing equipment facilitating cutting, bookletmaking and binding.

The firm currently employs four full-time members of staff and four part-time. Woolley said two more employees were being sought to be taken on in the near future.
