The speculation is believed to have been fuelled by owner Investcorp's quarterly shareholder statement which said: "Finding a resolution for the build-up in exposure concentration to Polestar on the balance sheet" is a top priority.
"We continue to explore all possibilities with all our competitors, but at the moment there is no firm direction for Polestar," said Hibbert.
