Heidelberg will be pushing its IT and digital capabilities with a huge presence at next year's CeBIT IT and communications fair.
Occupying a 900m2 space, which was previously home to Oracle, Heidelberg will demonstrate digital photography and workflow, with output on a range of devices including the Digimaster 9110, NexPress and the Quickmaster DI 46.
Heidelberg director of marketing and sales Holger Reichardt said it was important for the group to attend non-print specific shows to address potential new customers and "lobby for print media" as a form of communication. "Plus we want to promote what Heidelberg can do for our customers' customers," he said.
Reichardt added that Heidelberg would not emulate its Drupa presence. "We will have a very progressive booth design," he said. "Hall 1 closes and doesn't reopen until the next CeBIT so we won't have to dismantle it."
He claimed there was strong competition to get the Heidelberg space (stand 6 A2), as it is estimated 70% of the show's 782,000 visitors arrive by the entrance next to it.
Sharp, Panasonic, Danka, Xerox, IBM and Canon will all have stands close to Heidelberg.

CeBIT runs from 22-28 March 2001 in Hanover.
