The deal currently just covers the UK, but Troika is also talking to Heidelbergs pre-press headquarters in Kiel after it was introduced by Heidelberg UK.
Weve been looking for ages for something like that, but other devices were not quite right or too expensive, said Heidelberg product manager for CTP and workflow, Guy Elliott.
Not only does it help our engineers set up a machine, it also allows customers to troubleshoot before we send an engineer. It allows them to isolate if it is a plate or a platesetter problem.
Heidelberg is not the only platesetter firm showing an interest. Esko-Graphics has also looked at the PlateCam. Troika is also working hard on a new version of the PlateCam that will be launched in the next couple of months.
