Presstek and Heidelberg have settled arbitration over non-exclusive co-operation, intellectual property rights, patent ownership, licence terms and conditions.
The action had been running since December 1999. Heidelberg head of corporate communications Hans-Dieter Siegfried was unable to reveal any details because the parties had agreed that terms would not be disclosed. But he said it was "very good" for both sides.
Gotthard Schmid, head of Heidelbergs direct imaging product centre, said the agreement would have a "positive impact" on the Quickmaster 46-DI.
Presstek president and chief executive Robert Hallman said the companies had shared "a long and important partnership" and that he looked forward to Heidelberg continuing to be a "key partner".
