InlineInspector detects dots and colour variations larger than 0.6mmx0.6mm to reduce sorting costs and improve quality control, said MAN Roland.
"Corrections can be made to minimise waste of substrate and operator and machine time," added the firm.
Brian Reeder, managing director of the Derbyshire printer, said: "We are confident of passing a 100% correct stack of sheets from press to bindery by setting a standard and comparing sheets to that standard."
The 120,000 digital camera-based system will be mounted this month on a recently ordered six-colour Roland 700. It will tab suspicious sheets in the stack for manual removal.
