Guilbert Print Management Services, a subsidiary of office supplies company Guilbert UK, has turned to Xerox to upgrade its digital printing equipment.
The firm has installed three DocuTech 6135s, two DocuPrint 4635 MXs and a DocuColor 2060 with pre-press and workflow hardware and software from Xerox at its Erith, Kent headquarters.
It previously leased two DocuTechs and two DocuPrints from Xerox on a four-year basis but decided to extend its contract.
Our work has changed. We can offer our customers better quality and a faster turnaround times, said studio and digital manager Harry Tsigarides.
Guilbert UK, owner of the Niceday stationery brand, reported turnover of nearly 229m in 1999, and has recently acquired a small Liverpool-based digital print arm of Idaho-based Boise Cascade.
Guilbert Print Management Services employs around 300 staff and started life as part of Lloyds Bank.
It manages printing for a wide range of public and private clients, including the Inland Revenue, the NHS, the Royal Bank of Scotland, NatWest and retail firm Alders.
Were looking to take the digital side a bit further. At the moment were staying as we are and seeing how our profits go, but next year or the year after well look at e-commerce, print-on-demand and fast turnaround printing, said Tsigarides.
