ProfileMaker 5 Packaging is based on two Photoshop plug-ins and supports up to 10 colours per job, which can include CMYK.
The use of the multi colour separation plug-in and generic output profiler are claimed to cut hours and several steps from the separation, proofing and preparation of special colour jobs in flexo, gravure, offset and digital print processes.
One claimed benefit is the elimination of the need to create test cylinders and plates to make changes.
The software, which includes two days' onsite training, also allows control of ink consumption and volume.
A calculator to determine the costs saving using the software can be found at www.gretagmacbeth.com/pm5packaging_roi_calculator.html.
