Global Graphics tweaks Jaws

Global Graphics has updated its Jaws RIP to improve portability, flexibility and reliability.

The upgrade is aimed at users of wide-format and digital imaging kit, and will allow them to tap into benefits for improving control over colour correction.

New features include PDF 1.5 compatibility and 16-bit rendering for better colour handling.

"The principal strengths of the Jaws RIP, launched in 1990, have always been its portability, flexibility and reliability. This new release aims to build on these strengths," said product manager Dan Woodford.

PDF 1.5 compatibility was a principal need for customers in wide-format and digital print as well as document management, he said.

The upgrade also offers 16-bit rendering, which the firm hopes will improve compatibility for third-party add-on software, particularly colour management.
