At a meeting held on 5 September each confirmed its intention to seek council funds for redevelopment.
However, Professor Tom Wilson, principal of the College of Building & Printing, said reports that the five colleges were to merge had been over-exaggerated.
Although the College of Building & Printing had suffered from shrinking numbers at the same time as the printing sector had experienced a decline, Wilson said it was ready to cope with new digital technology.
We are not going to leave what we consider to be the best site in Glasgow, he added.
