In 30 years Ive never seen such a leap forward in technology. My belief is its bigger than Macs and digital print, said chairman and managing director Richard Gardner.
The Cardiff-based firm is the first in the world to use a the.factory for point of sale and outdoor display print.
Ive fallen in love, Gardner said. Its rekindled my love of the industry.
The the.factory has been installed as part of a 1.5m spend that includes a Bilhfer gravure coating unit and a Contech slitter and sheeter for finishing.
This kit will tackle work that is currently produced using screen and digital print, as well as opening up new markets.
Gardner worked with Dotrix for 18 months to influence the final machine especially printing onto plastics and self-adhesive stocks.
It makes printing onto plastics simple and resilient, its easier to print and
more robust than screen with the same vibrancy, said Gardner.
