Fujifilm will focus on book production for its next Real Production Show online event, and is giving Printweek readers the opportunity to submit questions for its panel of experts ahead of the show.

Three Fujifilm Jet Press customers will take part in the upcoming show: Jay Nash, colour department general manager at Clays in Bungay; Jamie Stanborough, operations director at CPI Books in Croydon; and Ander Soriano Melgar, director general at Spanish creative studio Estudios Durero.

The Real Book Production Show will take place at 10am BST on 26 May and will cover different aspects of book production, from books on demand to mass market and fine art.

It will be held in Fujifilm’s established “fast paced” style, hosted by Fujifilm Europe product manager for digital press systems Mark Stephenson.

“We are contacting the printing community at an early stage so they can contribute the questions we should be asking our guests,” he said.

“When people are typing in questions during the live show I may or may not see them because there are so many things going on. So this is an opportunity for people to send in some considered questions in advance about what they’d like to know.”

Stephenson said the event would also include challenging the Fujifilm team at its Advanced Print Technology Centre in Brussels to print and bind a book before the show finishes “from white paper to a finished book, of a decent size, in under an hour”.

The action will also switch live to Horizon in Japan, for a whistle-stop tour of the manufacturer’s huge demo centre, which houses kit that can produce books of one through to mass production.

“There will be robots!” Stephenson added.

Questions can be submitted to Stephenson via email.
