Former directors of north Londons doomed Colophon Design & Print are thought to be sounding out the market for potential work from their former client portfolio.
The firm fell into liquidation with debts of over 1m and a creditors meeting was held in late July (PrintWeek,/i>, 20 July). The work could be worth up to 4m.
One of the directors, Suresh Dhul, would only say he was job hunting and matters were "all confidential."
Another director, Trevor Lowe, said he and his colleagues were looking for jobs independently.
"A few trade printers have phoned up thinking if we print from their premises they will get a percentage. But were not interested it would be going back to running our own business again."
David Holme, the third director, was not available for comment.
Stephen Katz, head of insolvency at Fisher Partners, is the liquidator. He said the firms purchase of nearby Modell Print (PrintWeek, 17 September 1999) led to the collapse of Colophon, with 35 jobs lost in total.
An estate agent is valuing the property. Colophons turnover in 1999 was 4.2m with profits of 142,000.
