EskoArtwork conducts Suite 10.1 upgrade seminar in Mumbai

EskoArtwork conducted a one-day seminar today for its customers in the Western region at the PrintWeek India office to make them aware of the possibilities with the new upgrades of its Suite 10.1.

The seminar was free of charge for EskoArtwork customers under the company’s Software Support Care.

Pre-press managers, owners and team members from companies like TCPL, Parksons Packaging, Awards Packaging, Essel Propack, Shilp Gravures and Nobel Printing Press attended the event.

The seminar was conducted by Arun H S, senior application engineer for South Asia at EskoArtwork who gave a tour of the new upgrades in the workflow Suite 10.1 with practical demonstrations and examples.

The prominent parameters of the software upgrade includes the Automation Engine 10.1 taking integration, automation and central job management further ahead, by introducing functionality formerly only available on the Nexus platform. "This will help many professional ArtPro and Nexus users to move up to the next level of workflow automation from EskoArtwork," said Arun.

EskoArtwork is a favourite with  print firms having units in multi-location, TCPL being the recent company to join.

Parksons Packaging has all its units (Daman, Rudrapur and Chakan in Pune) integrated with EskoArtwork workflow software. Antony V U, senior manager pre-press for Parksons Packaging, wanted to be sure if the upgrading process wouldn't disrupt the integration between the units of Parksons. This he said was an issue that could occur while one of Parksons’ unit would be getting upgraded with the new software.

The purpose of the seminar was two-fold. Apart from the awareness of the new upgrades, EskoArtwork utilised this seminar to get its customers more accustomed to the intricacies of the software parameters that they deal with on a daily basis. Solutions were offered by Arun for questions pertaining to the needs of a print buyer and production regarding the image scaling aspects, 3-D simulation, normalising PDFs, PDF forms, ink groups, comparing geric and normalised PDF through Automation Engine viewer etc...

The other value added items available in the new upgrade explained by Arun included: "Fewer manual tasks with new Processor module - allowing customers to automate tasks that are normally carried out manually in the ArtPro editor which includes trapping, distortion, and screening parameters; updated PDF technologies with the latest Enfocus Pitstop pre-flighting tools on board; integration with entry level business systems like XML through which job data can be automatically drawn from non-JDF compliant business systems such as FileMaker Pro, Excel or home-made software solutions; and a simplified user interface."

A similar one-day seminar will be conducted in New Delhi tomorrow, 29 September, for EskoArtwork customers in the Northen region.
