EBB expands with Broadgate buy

EBB's Thurrock site will house the acquired business

Elliott Baxter & Company has boosted its office offering with the acquisition of Broadgate Paper.

Broadgate Paper specialises in the supply of cut-size FSC and PEFC accredited papers, serving clients based in the City of London from its unit in Leigh-on-Sea, as well as schools in Kent and Essex.

The firm also offers a confidential waste destruction service, and general storage for business clients “from printed material to furniture to inflatable hammers”.

The company was founded by managing director Paul Rossiter in 1998. It had employed five pre-pandemic but downsized due to the impact of Covid-19.

Broadgate worked with a range of paper manufacturers including The Navigator Company, Suzano and Clairefontaine.

EBB sales and marketing director Chris Sandwell commented: “We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of Broadgate, we have known Paul for a long time and believe his customer focus and high degree of service at Broadgate fits ideally into the EBB Office strategy.

“With a larger portfolio and increased distribution area we believed we can grow the Broadgate sales”.

The Broadgate business will become part of EBB’s Office & Paper division, which operates out of the merchant’s Thurrock site.

Rossiter and his son Ben joined the EBB Office team at the beginning of this month, when the acquisition completed.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Broadgate Paper will drop out of the Aims Group of independent merchants due to its new ownership.
