DWP to tender 60m deal for slicker supply

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is set to award a contract in the region of 60m as part of its efforts to create a streamlined print supply chain.

It will incorporate the printing of the DWP's core material including forms, leaflets, internal communications and claim packs. The department added that it would not be limited to those areas and that the contract would last for seven years.

The DWP is currently looking for firms to express interest by 29 October and the contract will start from 2005. Alongside print the contract also covers distribution to a network of DWP offices and other outlets.

According to the department, once the contract has been awarded a number of other services would be considered for inclusion within its Logistics Service Provider in the early stages of the contract. This would include stationery, reprographics, configurable print, photocopiers and marketing and communications material.

The DWP refused to comment if the tender was part of a specific major campaign.
