DGIA to get UK's second MAN Roland 900XXL

The Defence Geographic Imagery and Intelligence Agency (DGIA) will get the second MAN Roland 900XXL press in the UK.

It will be used to print maps and charts and will be installed at the Replication Branch of the DGIA in December.

"This is the type of print where quality is really critical, which means only the very best presses are required," said MAN Roland GB sales director for major accounts Bob Ellis.

The six-colour press with a maximum sheet size of 1,200x1,620mm, will come with inline slitter and will be specified for fast makeready.

It is part of a 3m investment, which includes a Baumann pile turner, the press joins a Roland R706 and replaces a 19-year old Roland 806.

The DGIA machine will be the first size 7B R900XXL in the country, but is the second machine, the first has just been installed at the Delta Group in East London.
