The joint owners of the Docklands printer were forced to share the boardroom by the Court of Appeal after 15 months of legal argument that cost an estimated 1m. Northern & Shell (N&S) joint managing directors Martin Ellice and Stan Myerson have joined Desmond.
Other board members include managing director Jeremy Deedes, chief executive Bill Wenman, printing director William Ellerd-Styles, Niamh ODonnell-Keenan and Robert Sanderson.
N&S bought Express Newspapers in November 2000 from United News & Media. The Telegraph then served noticed that it intended to buy N&Ss 50% stake under a pre-existing agreement. But there was argument as to the notice period, the suspension of N&Ss boardroom representatives and the formula to establish the plants value.
In March the Court of Appeal said the N&S directors should be reinstated onto the board.
