Customer concern prompts Ultima Displays to go for green credential

Portable display kit supplier Ultima Displays has achieved the ISO 140001 environmental standard after undertaking a raft of eco measures in response to customer demand.

"We are keen to promote a culture of awareness within the business," said managing director Andrew Burdett.

"Our market can be very price driven and we saw concern for environmental credentials waning as we went through recession," he explained.

"However, tentative confidence in the market has led to customers to once again asking about our green credentials and policies.

"Employees have been drivers for more tangible initiatives in place, such as paper and printer-cartridge recycling, and we recycle all cardboard, MDF and aluminium."

Corby, Northamptonshire-based Ultima Displays said it was aiming to reduce general waste going to landfill by up to 50% this year.

In order to this, it will work with suppliers and hauliers to reduce impact on the environment, and will reduce the use of gas and electricity throughout the year.
