CreoScitex is cutting around 200 jobs worldwide as part of a restructuring programme.
Positions across all areas of the group will be affected.
We had to look at what positions were less essential depending on where they were in the world, said corporate vice president, marketing, Boudewijn Neijens.
The move, which is a reaction to the global economic situation, will see in the region of 5% of the firms 4,000 staff go.
Some positions in Europe will be lost although the company could not comment on numbers and whether the measures would involve the UK.
As PrintWeek went to press on 1 August CreoScitex was informing staff of the cuts in advance of the release of the groups third-quarter results yesterday (2 August).
