This information was incorrectly reported in a French national newspaper, which is retracting its story.
Goss International currently employs approximately 850 staff at the French plant, not the originally reported 347, and is in talks with the Montataire works council and unions to reduce headcount by approximately 300 jobs, which would leave it with around 550 people. The company was not able to comment on the job cuts in view of the ongoing dialogue with the works council and unions.
It has made clear however that Goss commercial web presses, including those recently ordered by Graphoprint and Alderson Brothers in the UK as well as any future orders, will continue to be manufactured and supported by Montataire, and that there is no intention to close the plant.
Correction: Goss rebuts incorrect Montataire report
Contrary to a report in PrintWeek, 23 June, Goss International will not be left with just 46 people at its Montataire plant following proposed job cuts.
