Howard Smith Group (HSG) marketing manager Vince Collins is joining MoDo Merchants as marketing director.
It is understood that Collins, who has worked for HSG for 10 years, tendered his resignation just prior to Christmas. He will complete a "handover period" at HSG before joining MoDo Merchants. The firm has not yet revealed his successor.
MoDo Paper is closing its Westerham sales office following its acquisition by Mets-Serla. It will relocate to the Mets-Serla-owned New Thames mill at Kemsley in Sittingbourne.
"Everybody at the Westerham office has been offered a job at the New Thames site," said divisional director for business paper, Stephen Vail. "There are good facilities at Kemsley and it was becoming difficult to operate two separate sales force offices," he added.
It is understood that the New Thames site will also be the base for a customer service centre, and a new computer system will be installed in the coming months.
