Clinical Print Finishing reaps the benefits of its TPE showing

Miniature finisher Clinical Print Finishing has questioned why more printers and finishers did not exhibit at this year's Total Print! Expo (TPE).

The Leicester-based company was the only finisher to have a stand at the show, and, according to managing director Jamie Court, this was beneficial to the firm.

He said: "Everyone that comes through this door is someone we want to talk to. Be it a printer, a print buyer or a designer. We had a visit this week from a well-known drinks manufacturer – we have an order placed for 1.2m miniature die-cut booklets – it has basically paid for the show."

Court added that Clinical had also been able to talk directly to designers about products on offer, allowing the company to get involved higher up the chain than usual for a finisher.

Clinical will also have a presence at Graph Expo in Chicago, US, and Court is expecting to see plenty of printers with stands at this year's show, which is taking place on October 26-29.

He said: "In America they realise that the show is a massive market place. Everybody says that they aren't making money, well they need to be in a position to be approached.

"We have talked to lots of people about 5,000 or 10,000 runs this week and it has been great. However, next year I don't think we will be advertising, we are just going to attend all of the shows – it's better for getting your name out there."
