Charterhouse sets up European HQ

Charterhouse has centred its European activities in a new Paris-based headquarters, headed up by European client services director Chrystel Adams.

The move follows what the company described as a "significant" rise in turnover across the past two years, with growing business in 17 territories such as France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Adams said the French market was particularly strong. "We have a strong proposition in this space, being able to bring new technologies and innovations to help clients streamline operations and ensure consistent, cost-effective and sustainable marketing communications."

The office will employ 20 staff, although the group will still be headquartered in Hatfield.

Chief executive Gary Mahoney added: "In the tentative economic climate, large European organisations are carefully scrutinising where they can remove costs and increase efficiency. Our Paris HQ is a commitment to meet that demand."
