Pisces Jetplate, which uses an adapted Epson ink-jet printer to image onto metal plates, is being sold by Romsey-based Caxton Printers Supplies.
Plates are claimed to be suitable for four-colour work and runs of up to 30,000.
Maximum linescreen is currently 133lpi, but a 175lpi upgrade will be available soon.
GTO-sized aluminium plates for the system cost 2.25 each . A complete system including Harlequin RIP costs 15,500.
The firm is also offering bundling deals so the plate price covers the cost of the hardware.
Caxton managing director Mike Edwards said: "I cant keep up with the demand for demos."
