BPIF supports printing role in design review

Print is to form part of a government review looking into the role of design in UK business.

The review is headed up by Design Council chairman George Cox and it will examine how best to enhance UK business productivity by drawing on the country's creative capabilities.

Cox has met up with the BPIF to look at examples of "high-quality and innovative design" produced by the Federation's member firms.

"It is important that the print industry is acknowledged as an industry that is developing innovative design solutions for its clients and not just putting ink on paper," said BPIF chief executive Michael Johnson.

The BPIF is urging members to contribute their experience of design to the Cox review. Areas include barriers to developing in-house design capabilities or working with professional design companies.
