While Muller Martini focused on its theme of "The Profitable Mailroom", Ferag sales operation WRH Market-ing launched XtraWin, a new business service encouraging newspaper publishers to produce more semi-commercial products in-house.
The focus came as suppliers in all sectors concentrated on the increasing options for newspaper printers to print magazine-style publications.
Ferag and Idab Wamac showed off sticker applicators, which they claim can increase advertising revenues for newspaper publishers.
Ferag unveiled its Memo-Stick product, which attaches advertising notes to any area of publication covers.
The Swiss company also launched a new entry-level mailroom line for smaller newspaper printers with small to medium runs.
Three new products were on show, including the PrimeLine conveyor, the SmartStack stacker and the SmartStrap strapping mach-ine, which straps across and along without turning.
Muller Martini showed no kit at the show, but ran seminars promoting its modular Mailroom Product-ion Control (MPC) system.
MPC gives remote control and real-time data for usage of mailroom kit, allowing printers to better understand where time and money can be saved.
