The Worksop-based business’s line includes a Horizon AF-566F/T-564 and MKU-54 mobile knife configuration with a PSX-56 press-stacker.
Production director John Bayliss said that the PSX-56 element of the machine will be crucial for the business going forward.
He said: "The press-stacker is a vital part of the folding process for us as it reduces folding to a practical one-man operation. It also presses the folded signatures flat for a smoother workflow in the saddlestitcher."
The PSX-56 features a colour touchscreen and JDF-ready on-board computer. It offers 1.2 tonnes of pressure and delivers up to 900 piles per hour.
Bayliss added that the new line’s ability to fold faster was important. He said: "If we have allowed two hours for folding a job we need it to take two hours otherwise it affects other jobs scheduled and our overall throughput. It also impacts on our margins."
Bayliss eyes big results from IFS bindery spend

Commercial printer Bayliss Design and Print has said it expects to record a 50% increase in bindery output after installing an all-buckle B2 folding system from Intelligent Finishing Systems.
