The move has been made because of an increased demand for fast turnaround, small format work. The PM 52-2 replaces a B2 press at the firm.
"We currently run a four-colour Shinohara," said Barkers Print & Design managing director Colin Barker. "But we liked the speed and automation of the PM52-2 and especially as it prints right to the edge of the 52cm, which a lot of presses don't do."
Along with the press, Barkers Print & Design has ordered a Prosetter visible light platesetter with MetaDimension software. The investment was financed by Close Print Finance.
