Bar Graphic Machinery (BGM) has expanded its European business development capabilities with the opening of a new demonstration centre in Eichen, Germany.

The 297sqm facility was opened on 1 January in collaboration with BGM’s sales and support partner PorterPac.

BGM first partnered with PorterPac in 2020 for the distribution of its Elite range of label finishing systems, die-cutting slitter rewinders, digital label converting finishing systems, and flexible packaging finishing equipment into Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

BGM said the new facility will take the relationship to the next level, enabling more localisation of technical service and support for BGM customers, as well as a new, fully equipped environment for training, education, and customer sales activities.

BGM managing director Annemarie Rhodes said: “With PorterPac, we have partnered with a company that offers superb engineering skills, expert market knowledge, technical expertise and a team that reflects our values as a business.

“The new demo centre investment is a great opportunity for us to work even more closely together. It enables us to support our customers across central Europe showcasing our latest technical innovations and reinforces our commitment to long-term customer relationships and success.

“In addition, we are currently expanding our network of agents and seeking new partners around the world to underpin our growth strategy and welcome applications from established print and converting equipment representatives.”

PorterPac managing director Jerry Porter added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our two companies to demonstrate the power of our relationship both at a machine and service level. We’re looking forward to hosting customers on site and driving the business forward in 2022 and beyond.”

Established in 1992, BGM offers demonstrations and training for UK customers at its headquarters in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The company recently expanded its UK operation by adding new production and warehousing facilities.
