A representative of the company, who would not give his name, claimed he was in the process of paying off the 13,600 debt through personal means as the firms bank account had been frozen. However, a petition has been published and is due to be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice in London on 17 September.
Atlas Print is operating from the same Mitcham address as Clarendon House Group, which shared a phoneline with Dicker & Dunster Printers until they both went into administration 15 months ago (PrintWeek, 7 June 2002).
Steve Mepham, partner at credit checking agency National Print Database, said one of his clients was owed 5,000 by the firm and he had been in legal action to claim the sum.
