Astron has extended its service to major airline clients by acquiring Docusystems travel document management business in Tring from its US parent.
Docusystems nine staff will move to an Astron site in nearby Aylesbury.
The deal will make Astron a supplier to Virgin Atlantic Airways for the first time. It also involves present client British Airways.
The firm sources, stores and distributes mass transit ticketing, including advanced boarding tickets with magnetic strips. Some tickets are printed at Magnadata, the Lincolnshire firm bought from Docusystems Inc by Roy Colclough in July (PrintWeek, 21 July).
Astron chief executive David Mitchell said that arrangement would remain in place for the foreseeable future.
