A new website listing printers alongside other marketing-related firms has just been launched.
AP Information Services' website went live two weeks ago and 5,000 people have already logged on to www.findasupplier.info, said the London-based data firm.
Around 300 printers are currently on the free listings site, with more than 5,000 marketers and 12,000 human resources personnel and training firms across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
The listings for each firm include type of print, contact details, annual turnover, major clients and staff numbers. Print categories include litho, screen, hot-foil, digital and general printing, repro, binding and finishing, stationery and typesetting.
The 5,000-supplier database complements AP's Marketing Manager's Yearbook and Personnel Manager's Yearbook, said the latter's editor, Alister Barclay.
"More people are doing web searches so we wanted a service for sourcing suppliers online," he said.
Jacinta Tobin, AP head of sales and marketing, said: "The website is quicker and easier than using a search engine and it gives access to the largest free database of specialist suppliers of marketing-related services."
