Apprintable has installed four new machines following a surge in demand for its services over the winter.

Last month, the London-based print and design specialist took delivery of an Easycoat gluing system supplied by Vivid Laminating Technologies, an Oki Pro A3 white toner printer from Amaya UK, a Canny P50 automatic strapping machine purchased from Morgana, and a Sawgrass SG1000 A3 printer that was supplied by The Magic Touch.

“The investment opens up new lanes of opportunities for us in printing and production as well as helping us achieve our sustainability goals,” said Apprintable managing director Peter Haddad.

“The Easycoat gluing machine allows us to create thick multi-layered business cards as well as luxury business cards, something our previous processes were not capable of,” said Haddad.

“The Oki white ink toner printer is something I’ve always wanted to add to our capabilities. It allows us to print on more merchandise that our previous setup couldn’t produce in-house, helping to streamline our production processes and reducing the wait time and minimum order quantities for clients.”

He added: “Being as eco-friendly as possible is a key part of our mission statement; the automatic strapping machine will allow us to improve speed for packaging and remove the single-use plastic film from our packaging that we used to heat-shrink our items in, a key part of our environmental goals.

“Combining the automatic strapping machine alongside the AeroCut Prime we previously acquired, we can now offer specific banded quantities with our products, something we have been asked for many times and had to previously count by hand and heat-shrink.

“Finally, the Sawgrass SG1000 A3 printer opens up more lines and opportunities for us in printing products that we couldn’t previously support in-house, including printing on hi-vis material, mousemats, and mug printing.”

Last summer, Apprintable moved to its new Wembley office, which has 93sqm of production and office space.

Its other recent kit investments have included a Ricoh Pro C5300s printer with Fiery RIP and a Warrior Electric Round Corner Cutter while it also runs a Graphtec F-Mark Plus digital die-cutter and an Epson SureColor SC-F2100 direct-to-garment printer with a heat press and pre-treatment machine.

The eight-staff business was established in 2015 and now has a turnover of more than £500,000.
