The firm, rescued out of administrative receivership by a management buy-in team nine weeks ago, aims to boost the direct mail side of the business with the appointments of Andy Bailey and Kevin Spicer, previously sales development director and key account director respectively at Vertis Croydon. Both are currently on gardening leave.
The Sutton-in-Ashfield firm has also taken on Jeremy Walters, previously at Swindon mailing house GWC, as business development manager working on DM and promotional items.
"We are planning quite a big push on DM, because this area has the biggest potential for growth," said chief executive Nick Dixon.
Dixon said that separately around eight redundancies had been made at middle management level. "We wanted to de-layer it at the end of the day we are very hands on," he said.
The departure of Weiss means that commercial director Tony Ogle is the only remaining member of the 2001 BIMBO team still at the company.

Howitt has strengthened its sales team with three new appointments, but has parted company with operations director Dave Weiss and human resources director Keeley Hemmings.
