Employees at Amazon in Bedford have voted overwhelmingly in favour of representation through its works council, but the GPMU continues to claim that the firms campaign was unfair.
A spokeswoman for Amazon said that of the 90% of the firms 500 staff that voted, 80% opted for company representation, 15% for the GPMU and 5% spoiled their papers.
She said: Our employees have given the matter their focus and have chosen to work with the works council. We hope the GPMU respects their wishes.
But GPMU Ouse Valley branch secretary Steve Ireland criticised Amazons conduct during its campaign, which he said included anti-union leaflets and T-shirts given to employees.
The bottom line is that were still there. We still have a number of on-going cases and will continue to represent our members, said Ireland.
