Adobe ready to make JDF debut

Adobe will show its Creative Suite applications creating JDF job tickets for the first time at Drupa.

Adobe is one of the four companies behind the specification and has been committed to the format from the beginning. However, this is its first set of products to use the format.

"JDF will revolutionise publishing production. It will simplify information exchange between the applications and systems essential to the industry and Adobe will be among the first to show JDF employed in end-to-end print workflows," said Adobe general manager of publishing technologies Don Walker. "As a founder of CIP4 and one of the creators of the JDF specification, Adobe plans to integrate the CIP4 standard across its publishing and design platform to drive JDF adoption throughout the creative industries," he added.

Firms such as Agfa, EFI, Esko-Graphics, Fuji, Heidelberg, Screen and Xerox will also demonstrate Adobe software creating JDF files on their stands at this year's Drupa.
