The Newspaper Society aims to broaden AdFasts appeal to smaller advertisers by incorporating AdWebs Ad2Press software into it.
AdFast is the societys internet-based ad delivery system, and Ad2Press is based on Markzwares MarkzNet web-based pre-flighting application.
"With our phase two launch, AdFast now provides all the necessary tools to build, check and send PDF files to any of our 1,300 titles with confidence," said AdFast technical support manager Rob Fogwill.
The second phase using Ad2Press is claimed to open up ad submission by making it simpler for smaller advertisers to use to correctly submit their copy.
"Part of the AdFast brief is to allow smaller artwork creators to send correctly specified files," said Fogwill. "We see MarkzNet as a tool for helping these clients easily identify problems with files before transmission."
The first phase, launched last May, was based on AdGate and AdExpress software from Portland PMS, and will be used by existing users and those handling high volumes of files.
"AdFasts selection of MarkzNet is a tremendous validation of our technology," said Markzware Europe managing director David Dilling. "It is wise for not only the publisher, but will also help the ad creator catch problems on their desktop a true win-win."
AdFast is also using Markzwares MarkzScout workflow automation tool to set up its workflow and the routing of files received by the AdFast server.
The two organisations began discussing the project at Newstec in May.
