The kit is due for delivery in July and replaces ACH's existing presses, a four-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 72 and five-colour 74. The Rapida 74 can produce 18,000sph and features double-size impression cylinders and transfer drums.
"We need to compete well in a tough market and to be up there with the latest technology," said ACH director Bob Wallace.
The Bournemouth-based firm will alter its work pattern with a press team of six working 24-hour shifts. The firm has a workforce of 18 staff and has a 1,000m site, and this year is targeting turnover of 3m.
Its services include colour print and design for agencies, publishers and insurance companies.
