Aaron Printing & Mailing Solutions goes into liquidation

Aaron Printing & Mailing Solutions (APMS) has gone into liquidation after its assets were sold and its staff made redundant.

The firm, which traded out of Aaron House, Island Farm Avenue, West Molesey ceased operations on 2 January. Its team of 12 staff was made redundant and the sale of its assets was overseen by sole director Spencer Sands in the following month.

On 7 February, the Salisbury office of corporate recovery firm Begbies Traynor was appointed as liquidator following a meeting of shareholders at the Molesey site. A subsequent meeting of creditors confirmed the appointment on 14 February at the company’s registered address in Uckfield, East Sussex.

According to Begbies Traynor, APMS had debts of £730,000 when it ceased trading. Priot to the appointment of Begbies Traynor, the sale of assets was conducted with advice from London-based auctioneer John Pye & Son, and Compass Insolvency was involved in “assisting with the formalities of placing the company into liquidation”, according to a Compass spokesperson.

The assets were disposed of for “fair value”, according to Compass.

At the time of writing, Begbies Traynor was yet to respond to a request for comment on whether the proceeds of the assets sale will be distributed to APMS’ creditors.

Begbies Traynor has taken over directorial duties for the liquidation period – this includes contacting creditors with statements of affairs.

Sands was previously a director at Cambridge-based DS Print, which went into liquidation in March 2011 and was dissolved in July 2013, and The Lingfield Press, which went into liquidation in October 2009 and was finally dissolved in May 2013.
