Xerox acquires Concept Group to expand small business reach

Xerox has acquired Scotland-based digital kit supplier Concept Group in a bid to broaden its reach into the UK small and medium-sized business (SMB) market.

The group and its 50-plus employees will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Xerox, serving more than 3,000 clients.

According to Douraid Zaghouani, president of the indirect channels group at Xerox, channel expansion continues to be a key aspect of the Xerox strategy for Europe.

"With Concept Group, we significantly increase our presence across the UK, bringing the right talent, the right coverage and the right positioning to this vital market," he added.

Through the acquisition, Concept will supply the Xerox range of office printers and then expand to handle its line of light production machines.

Colin Paterson, founder of Concept Group, said: "Our aim has always been to exceed customer expectations with regard to performance and cost savings.

"The acquisition means we’ll be able to do that even better by bringing our customers all the benefits of Xerox’s brand-leading products and managed print services expertise."

The acquisition of Concept Group comes little more than a year after Xerox acquired digital kit reseller Irish Business Systems (IBS) to expand its presence across Ireland after in a deal worth EUR 21m (£18.2m).
