Robert Horne to distribute Alcoa Reynobond

Robert Horne has moved quickly to plug the hole in its wide format substrates portfolio following Alcan Composites' decision to no longer use the company.

It has become a preferred partner with Alcoa to distribute its Reynobond range of aluminium composite materials (ACM) in the UK. Manufactured in Europe, Reynobond is used in architectural and sign-making applications.

Robert Horne is also tying up deals to bolster its position in other display boards following Alcan Composites' move. For PVC foam boards "we will be majoring on the Foamalux, Target and Falcon brands and will consolidate further our partnership with Brett Martin," said Adrian Dennis, Robert Horne Sign & Display divisional director, adding that the firm's Foamalux Xtra catered for demand for products with a recycled content.

Earlier this month, Alcan Composites moved to a new distribution model in the UK and announced that it was dropping Robert Horne.

Dennis said that it would supply Foamalux as an alternative to Alcan's Forex Classic PVC, Target or Falcon Foam PVC in lieu of Forex Print, and Falcon Foam Centred Board as an alternative to Foamex FoamBoard. The company does not stock Gatorfoam.

"We needed to offer the market the widest choice of products, hence this move," he said.

Dennis was appointed director of the Sign & Display division in February. He replaced Paul French, who was appointed managing director of the Robert Horne Group in November 2009.
