The judges were inundated with top-notch entries in this category, but it was the "consistent planning" and "exceptional understanding of the industry" demonstrated by Chapter Press that took its brochures to a higher level. The attention to detail shown across all four jobs submitted by the London-based printer was excellent, "particularly in pre-press and ink use". This was evidenced in the born brochure to launch Ted Baker's new clothing range, which needed to have the effect of an old fashioned, grainy, film shoot. Chapter manually applied colour profiling to the imagery before returning it to the design department for the grain to be applied. The plates were then run with a linear profile, maintaining the integrity of the original, before being printed using the company's special ‘highdry' inks.

The 2008 winner delighted the judges again with a series of sensational submissions, including the Vince Frost-designed Abundant Australia brochure, which was produced on behalf of the Australian Institute of Architects.

Granite Colour showed it was prepared to put in "extra effort with customers, with designers and in all production processes to achieve the best result possible" and in so doing it picks up its second commendation in two years.
