Post Haste Printers buys Perf Offset inline finishing system

Post Haste Printers has invested in a Perf Offset system for inline finishing on litho presses, in a bid to cut costs and bring more functions in-house.

The Pocklington, York-based printer has started to crease and perforate print in-house since purchasing the Spanish-built Perf Offset from BFS Pressroom Solutions. The system has enabled the company to save money and give customers faster delivery rates.

Perf Offset is a two-part system, comprising two self-adhesive strips. The first is the perforating, creasing or cutting rule which is affixed to the impression cylinder. The second part is an anvil strip that is attached to the blanket, ensuring that no damage to the blanket occurs. There is no need for special perforation blankets and the adhesive on the strips can withstand high temperature conditions.

The product can be used on a variety of paper sizes, from very thin paper to thick card, and can be placed anywhere required.

Post Haste director Mark Crabtree said: "We invested in the Perf Offset to improve our efficiency, which is essential in the current climate. It has helped us to reduce our expenditure because we no longer have to outsource the work and we are not having to pay any drivers. It is incredibly easy to use and makereadies now take under five minutes."
